Overview
You will visit Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. During this safari, you will drive to the most popular wildlife destinations, enjoy game driving and capture amazing photographs of the animals and scenery. Both the Serengeti and the crater are home to Africa’s “big five” (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), full of other abundant wildlife and, of course, unforgettable safari experiences!
Day 1. Welcome to Arusha and Transfer to Serengeti National Park
You will depart for the most famous national park in the world: the Serengeti. The drive itself, although long, is spectacular. This will be an unforgettable event for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means “endless plains” in the local language. The park has an area of 14,763 km2 and the plains stretch to the horizon for most of it, defying your senses and perception of distance. It is the home of the great migration, two million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes. As for big cats and large predators, it’s the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas.

Day 2. Serengeti National Park
You will spend the whole day on a game drive in the Serengeti, which is rich with all different species of animals. To maximize game viewing you will carry a picnic lunch with you in order to spend the full day in the park. The Serengeti is an eco-system on its own with a diverse landscape and ever-changing flora and fauna.
An optional hot air balloon ride can be added (price not included) to the tour on any of the days you spend in the Serengeti, providing you with a spectacular opportunity to view the animals from the air.

Day 3. Depart Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
The morning is set aside for another game drive in the Serengeti – and you might spot some creatures that you haven’t seen yet! Animals tend to be more active in the morning before the temperatures soar around midday. After a picnic lunch at the entrance of the park, you will leave the plains of the Serengeti and travel to the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will spend the night at a nearby lodge on the crater rim.

Day 4. Depart the Land of Animals Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
We will start the day very early and descend onto the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife viewing in one of the most stunning places on Earth. After the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful Hippo Lake. After lunch, we will go on another short game drive and then ascend the crater and exit Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Arusha.
We expect to be back in Arusha in the evening although we can be flexible in case there is a flight to catch or another time-sensitive situation. We recommend an early start with a packed breakfast and lunch in order to have more time in the crater.
